First Purchase for the Little One

Yesterday Eric and I happened to stop at a thrift store to just look around a bit. We were not actually planning to make any purchases. Sometimes we just love to look.

We found ourselves in an Arc, a local thrift store, when we spotted the little beauty you see to your right. Now you might be thinking, "What a lovely stroller," but you would be wrong. What you are looking at is a pram (it's made in England). We ran over to the pram and took a look. It is in perfect condition and it cost almost nothing, which makes it oh so sweet.

So, we made our first purchase for our little unborn baby. For some reason it made everything all the more real. We are awaiting someone and they've already got stuff here.

Very cool! I love those old prams, but they are hard to find. And modern re-creations of them are ridiculously expensive (and I believe have hydraulics - lol). Great find!

It's PERFECT! :-) I'm sorry I missed all the snowy fun. It made our drive home yesterday pretty, though. Happy packing.

That is such an awesome pram! I love those but have never actually seen them sold anywhere. Lucky you guys!

And how cute are you guys going to be with baby Wimmer struttin' around in that?!

I have just found your blog by way of Robins blog list.

The pram is very cool! Congratulations on your pregnancy. It's exciting isn't it?! Our baby is nearly 4 months old and has rolled onto his tummy all alone today for the first time! :) I hope you enjoy your preganancy. I even found my self missing my big pregant belly afterwards!

The first purchase I made for our little one was a hand knitted beanie! Ou pram is no where near as cool as this one!

What great first gift. I agree, buying something for the little bit does make it more real. I think we bought a pair of pink converse for her and then a Bumbo but I don't remember which we bought first.

That is so beautiful! And perfect, too, for a traveling nap and stroll, in and out of the house. :) We have a friend who uses her super nice bugaboo (which is basically a pram) for naps in her house. The baby can sleep and be moved without a fuss.

Yay for you three!

That is adorable! I love salvaged treasures... so much character.

Please post photos when you take your new blessing out for your first stroll in the park... and of all the people smiling and pointing at the cuteness.

Super fun find!

I love carriages like that - in Europe lots of people still use them - I wonder why they've fallen out of favor here...

Oh! I love your little pram! I had one just like it for baby Sean!! Great memories of rows of rosy-cheeked babies sitting patiently in their prams..all in a row OUTSIDE the storefront whilst the mums shopped!! English shops being way too tiny for prams!

When you make that first purchase something really special happens. It's so true, somehow it all becomes real, it's happening. I love this pram (we call them prams too) it is just divine, SO looking forward to seeing a little cherub snuggled in it!
