Beauty and the Basset and Reminder About Giveaway Winners

I am frequently asked how our much loved basset gets along with our lovely lady. The answer is that they have a beautiful relationship developing and it is a complete joy to watch.

When we return home from an outing Bumblebee is beside herself with joy and desperately tries to lick Cordelia's face, too bad she has terrible breath. Cordelia loves it.

Dinner time has been figured out by both. Cordelia loves too see her food magically disappear and Bumblebee is happy to hoover it up.

When Bumblebee approaches, Cordelia often screams with delight!

Beauty and the Basset

We've taught Cordelia how to pet Bumblebee so there is no pulling (yet). So Bumblebee loves the extra attention.

Petting Bumblebee

Cordelia loves to give Bumblebee toys so she will go over to Bumblebee's toy box and pull out her rope toys, kong, or whatever else is in there. Bumblebee gently receives each item.

Petting Bee

Of course Bumblebee is still a dog and we would be foolish to assume that she is only a gentle pooch. Sometimes she goes joyfully bounding through the house, howling and barking. We simply pick up Cordelia as she hysterically laughs at Bumblebee's antics.

Actually, Cordelia is laying on the dog bed as I am typing this. So cute!

A beautiful friendship is surely forming!

Don't forget to check my previous post and see if you've won. Congratulations, if you have please email me your mailing address.

Looks like another devoted animal lover in the making, just like her parents! Isn't it adorable to see animals and children interacting? LOVE it!

When I was a little one, I would go up to our dogs and take Milk-Bones right out of their mouths and start gnawing on them! HA! They totally let me, and they let me crawl all over them and lay on them and love on them. They were mother-and-son miniature black poodles named Tina and Shane and they were just the best dogs ever. Tina passed when I was 8 and Shane passed when I was a teenager. We still miss them and think about them all the time. :-)

It's awesome to watch little kids bond with animals. And they are both so filled with love that it's not surprising they are fast friends!

I'll admit to being annoyed when people ask what I'm going to "do with the cats" when the baby comes. I generally stare back blankly and politely repeat, "Do?"

I know what you mean, people were really worried about the pet/baby situation. Of course animals and babies can't be inherently trusted to treat each other properly, but they get along well with a little mothering.

Dogs are awesome!! My family had a basset, Winnie. It got excited when people came to the house and peed on the floor.
The two dogs that have been in my life with my kids are pretty rad.

I know I have said it before...but you do take beautiful pictures. There is something about them....
