Giveaway Day 4

Last night we had company over. We've been trying to have these friends over for a visit for ages. They have a three year old and a 3 month old, so they've been busy adjusting to having a family of four. Anyhow, one thing led to another and a couple of months passed, finally they came over for dinner last night.

I decided to go very safe and just made spaghetti since I wanted to show them that vegans eat familiar foods as well. So I went a little overboard on a fancy sauce, but otherwise kept it simple and good.

Andy brought over some of his homemade beer. I just tried a sip and it was good. I've only tried a few "home brews" in my life and usually they are gross at best...not that I like beer very much anyway, but you know.

My apron, it's a little bit wonderful

After dinner and a dessert of vegan raspberry oat bars we sat in the living room watching our little crew interact. Cordelia was already in love with the big kid, three year old Madeline. She carefully watched her play with toys, with a focus you'd never imagine a baby to have. She also touched their little guy Henry, patting his hair. We've taught her to pat our animals and I guess she felt OK doing that to their baby as well.

Giveaway Day 4

Today is giveaway day 4!!! Many of you have left such sweet comments and/or said such kind things on your own blogs. I've been trying to make the rounds, but if I haven't visited you in a bit it's nothing personal I am just using most of my spare time to finish my thesis. It's on the final stretch. I will get back to visiting and thanking you very soon! I am truly touched by your kind words. You have made this blogging experience much more enriching than I could have imagined!

To thank you I want you to tell everyone else about your blog or website or something that is important to you! Leaving such a comment will get you yet another entry into my 7 giveaways!

Also, I have heard reports that some of you are having difficulty (Mom) leaving comments. If you are having trouble blink once for yes and twice for no...oh that's problematic as I don't have the ability to see through the Internet (or do I?)***See Note*** Anyway, if you are having difficulty leaving a comment just send me an email, see my profile, and I will enter you in the giveaway.

Speaking of email, Michelle, please email me. I lost yours and I cannot leave comments on your blog.

***When I was a wee little lass I saw a movie or read a book and the animals were robots. I was frightened that my cats had cameras in their eyes and I would never change my clothes in front of them or discuss incriminating details of my 3rd grade life, lest they use the recordings for evil.***

As I don't have a blog or website, I will just comment that my beautiful dogs are important to me! (Wish I could leave a picture.) And I love reading Maria's blog - it's my little morning tradition...

Love the apron! I am always on the look out for interesting and pretty vintage aprons. The tricky part is finding full aprons instead of half aprons. I need the full coverage because I am quite messy I'm afraid.

Oh and here is my blog:

Sounds like the dinner party was a victory :) We are having people over next week too, and I had NO idea what to make. But we finally decided falafels and blueberry pie. Is the Joy of Vegan Baking a good one? I have seen it around and heard good things, but I have not yet taken the plunge to buy it.

Keia, run, don't walk, to buy The Joy of Vegan Baking. I didn't think I could bake until I got it. People rave about the goodies I've made using this book!

Something that is important to me is loving animals and believing in my heart that someday soon we can all live in peace on this earth and treat all living creatures with compassion and love.

Hi, I'm Anne's sister..and I too wish they would dress up as the Raggedy Dolls. :)
Love to read your blog and watch Cordelia grow. Perhaps someday I'll have the chance to meet you all if you happen to find yourselves in 'the Fort'. I found a fantastic new sewing shop here yesterday, and even though I've never met you, I thought of you and that you would like it.

Hmm...I actually don't advertise my blog much because that's the place where I tend to whine, LOL. What's important to me...I'm hoping grad school will be enriching and inspiring and not so overwhelming. That's about all I can think of today. :-)
