Catching My Breath and Some Books and a GIVEAWAY!

Well I am finally home, alone with Cordelia, the cats, Bumblebee. Wow, what a crazy few weeks it has been. Trips out of town, visitors from out of town, staying with family, colds, birthday parties (to attend and to throw), have all left me a little bit discombobulated. Last night Eric made it home from a fast trip to NM. We have the week to prep and then we get another exciting visitor...more on that later.

I haven't had a chance to talk to you all about books and I have a little agenda:

Not my photo

1) My Kindle. Eric gifted me with a Kindle last week and I am in loooove with it. Did you know most books published before 1923 (copyright law) are free? Yes my friend FREE. I am totally into the whole deal. I will be downsizing my actual books only to special editions and such.

2) Which is my next point I am going to do a little giveaway of books. So, leave a comment today and you'll be entered to win a package of slightly used books sent to your front door (or PO Box, whatever)! If you want two entries just post about the giveaway on your blog and let me know in the comments that you have done so.

3) I just read The Road on my Kindle and I really enjoyed it. Have you read it? If so what did you think?

I'd love to be a part of your little giveaway! I've been looking for some new books!

Will you mind if my blog post about this is on Wordpress or are you strictly doing Bloggr posts?

I read The Road and liked it even though I thought I wouldn't like it. (did that make sense?). It was dark and sad at points, but the unconditional love between father and son was so tender and brought a bit of light to the story (although it totally made me cry.). Haven't seen the movie yet; not sure I want to either.
Yes, sign me up for the giveaway and I'll mention it on my blog tonight! :)

Awesome giveaway Maria! I need to get another stack of books together to give away too...I read the review of 'the Road' - too scary for me...

I'd love some new (used) books! I'll blog about this giveaway later today, too. Glad you're enjoying the Kindle!

Hmm, The Road! I don't think I'm familiar with it. It seems like the folks here say it's bleak and scary, so it might be really good for this time of year! I'll have to check it out...

I think I am going to ask Santa for a Kindle this year. I am out of books, but hate spending the money on new ones. Would love to go to the library, but I forget about it!!! Luckily I have so many books that I am re-reading most of them as it has been so many years for some. But still, not the same as a new one.

(I'm the same Alexis that commented yesterday!)

I really liked the book, it was definitely dark, but full of a strange kind of hope and beauty.
