Moving In...Continues

The thing about moving is that it takes a little time to get settled. All is well, the frenzy is settling down. How are you today? Any words of wisdom you'd care to share?

Boxed in, Still Adolescent, Wigging Out, a Tulip and Baby Proofing

Well I think I underestimated how much Eric and I have made this town our home in the year that we have lived here. We have had so many people come out of the woodwork and offer to help us with our move. I can't believe it. Helping with a move is akin to volunteering to go as proxy to the dentist for someone else. Crazy kindness I tell you.

We are still buried beneath boxes and boxes both full and empty. Last night Eric eyed a box all through dinner and then before I knew it he had hopped in. Yes, my husband who is pushing 30 (don't remind him) was itching to hop into the box. Then he commented how it was sort of like an airplane. Oh how I love that kooky guy. Cordelia is going to have such fun with her father.

In case you were wondering my voice does still sounds bizarre. It's a guessing game whether the sounds that come out of my mouth will be low or high. So, I hope that someday I will have my voice back and the hearing in my right ear too.

In case you are wondering why I am showing you yet another picture of boxes let me tell you. I have been in this house nonstop. I think I have left the house for a total of about 30 minutes in the past two days, only leaving to take Bumblebee on short walks as it has been snowy and cold. So I am wigging out on the boxes, they've become the constant in my life.

Maybe we all need to refresh our eyes...so here you go.

Finally we are going to get serious about baby proofing our new digs. I am not talking about putting bumpers on everything and making Cordelia wear a helmet, but just the true dangers like outlets and mini blind cords. Any special baby proofing advice that you care to share?

I sound like an adolescent boy

I awoke this morning and opened my eyes. Quiet for a moment while I ran a systems check. You see I've been battling a cold the past few days and I am ready to feel normal already. I checked my nose, still clogged, my right ear is still deaf (not really sure why) from this cold, but my throat no longer hurts. So I figured I had made some improvements over night. Good enough for me.

Then I went to greet Cordelia and out honked some weird voice, not mine. It was weak and then strong like I was experiencing the pubescent sounds of a teen boy. I laughed and cleared my throat. Nope, it's still here. So I am having fun with it! I love when my voice goes all crazy like this. I keep making low moans and wails and then ridiculously high pitched wheezy squeals, much to Cordelia's delight. It truly is the little things my friends.

Cold or not, we are getting close to moving day! The excitement is mounting...well at least for Eric and I. Cordelia is indifferent and the animals are blissfully unaware. What a whirlwind this has been. Our house is quickly turning into box central. Cordelia is enjoying all of the packing. Her little hands reach out to inspect each and every item I attempt to pack away.

Anyway, that's where we are at today. What's going on with you?

Change in Change

Well, yesterday was filled with unexpected dramas. I will spare you the details, but it became clear that we need to move out of our current rental NOW. So we decided to put a hold on the house buying scheme and just move into another rental so we can take our time with the process. When we made that split second decision we didn't really think we'd find a new rental very quickly, but we were feeling pretty desperate. Then lo and behold we found a new place and signed a lease before the day was over. Thank goodness for small mercies!

Now we are speeding up the packing process. Our house is quickly filling with boxes and we will be over to the new place by week's end. I am so excited. The new place is open and airy so it will be just the right thing as we start to enjoy spring...which is supposed to start sneaking in within the next week or so. Wahoo. Now all I need to do is overcome this little cold I've got going and I will feel like a million bucks (I am talking actual bucks, not money).

Ooo, I also get to decorate Cordelia's room. I can't wait!

Change With the Season

It seems that my life follows the seasons. Does that happen with you? I often find, in retrospect, that many of my big changes happen right along with the season; moves, births, big decisions all seem to happen right as nature takes a turn. It's something to think about. Makes me feel more closely linked to nature.

Now with winter ending we are marking the days as we count down to more change. New growth right along with nature, once again. What does it mean? Does it mean anything? Who knows?

Yesterday Eric came home from work and I looked at him. We've been going head down for a bit now and I asked him to just step outside and take some photos for me, hoping to get him to reconnect with himself as a photographer and to feel the change that is hanging in the air. Here are the photos that he took just as the sun was setting.

Looking Back

Today I was looking through old photos from February 2007 when I found this photo and thought I'd tell you about it. Eric and I were living in Denver at the time. We were invited to a gallery opening and decided that we should go and check out the scene in the city. We got dressed up and went to this fancy schmancy loft of a gallery. People were speaking in hushed tones trying to absorb the artwork. We were excited to see that the fuss was about.

When we entered the main gallery we found that the art was black words on the wall. There was also an empty stage in the middle of the room. Sure the artist had a vision, but Eric and I were filled to the brim with artist's visions at the time. We were in the midst of grad school where we were working on our art history degrees. So we were rather dubious about the whole show.

We walked around and just didn't get it. Admittedly the "getting it" of art often requires a mood of acceptance and we just weren't there that day. So I tried to fake it until I made it. You'll see that the gentleman to the right of the photograph is looking pretty serious about the show, so I just copied him...it didn't work, but I had fun trying out my look of intense concentration. I guess you just have to find your fun where you can. Plus, Eric and I have tremendous difficulty taking ourselves seriously which is something that I love about our relationship.

Have you been to gallery openings? What is your plan-o-action when attending such events?

This and That

I think today is a this and that kind-o-day. Just a smattering of what's going on in my life and my brain.

Eric and I are trying to see if we can maybe possibly bow out of the renting game and buy our first home! I am not sure that it can happen right now, but we are at least trying. I am desperate to move into a place of my own. I imagine painting and decorating to my heart's desire. I fancy myself to be very hands on when it comes to home repairs...with the exception of plumbing. I will gladly pay someone $75/hour to deal with any toilet problems rather than deal with that myself.

Regardless of whether or not we end up buying, we do need to move. Our current place just doesn't fit our needs. So I have already started packing. Seems like I just did this a year ago...oh yeah I did. The packing process is a bit slower with a baby on my hip, but the boxes are starting to pile up. Box fort ahoy.

I have just started reading Annette Vallon. So far so good. I got the book from a friend. Have any of you read it?

You didn't read that wrong. We have a friend. Actually it's a couple and they are our first new friends in WY. We have a few future meet ups with friends as well and friends to be. It really really helps us to feel at home in Wyoming!!!

I am getting a wisdom tooth in and it is slowly moving my other teeth around. I have always had a bit of a gap in my front teeth, but now it's almost gone and I kind of miss it. I really don't want to have my wisdom tooth pulled though...so I am just embracing the new landscape of my teeth. That was a weird sentence.

Anyway, that's what is going on in my head. What is up with you?

Raspberries

Last night Cordelia was awake late. I sat on the floor as she was rolling on the ground looking around, grabbing her feet and babbling and talking. I watched as she discovered how to blow a raspberry. Tentatively at first. Then she realized that she could repeat this new sound. She reached her little fingers up to her lips and felt them. I am sure she was thinking about the strange tickle that comes with blowing raspberries. Then I did it back at her, her eyes widened. She paused for a moment and went right back to it and then looked at me waiting for me to respond with another one.

Every day is filled with dozens of such discoveries and connections. I am in constant awe as I watch human development unfold before my eyes. She is thriving, she is growing.

Dreaming

Old photo, since there are no current photos of me asleep...it's a rare occurrence.

Last night I had a vivid dream, but a ridiculous dream. There was a cobra in my house and it bit Eric. The dream included specific details on how to care for snake wounds; information I must have picked up at some point in my waking life. When I awoke from my dream I had that moment where I had to remind myself that it was only a dream. Then I laughed about it and couldn't wait to tell Eric about the nonsensical intricacies of this particular dream. We had a good chuckle about it.

It is so strange to invest time and emotion into the craziness that goes on between my ears while I am asleep. I always wonder what others dream about and why. Take Bumblebee for instance, that is one animated sleeper. She twitches, moans, sniffs and rapidly breathes while sleeping. What is she dreaming about? I would like to think that she is dreaming that she is participating in the winter Olympics. Or Cordelia, she has such limited experience here on earth. What does she dream about? What were her dreams while in the womb?

Do you know why you dream what you do? Had any interesting dreams you care to share?

Snow Day Survival Guide

I guess it's still winter. Yesterday it was well above freezing. All of the snow had disappeared except the renegade snow patches that were lingering on in the shadows. The birds were singing...it seemed as though we were on the cusp of spring. Maybe we still are, but we've back tracked a little bit...

Snowy trees

Since Eric has the day off we might as well embrace the snow day. Here is my snow day survival guide:
  • Movie where snow plays an important role. We like things like The Day After Tomorrow, The Shining, Misery, The Thing, Thirty Days of Night, The Day the Earth Froze
  • Vegan hot chocolate!
  • A fort, perhaps.
  • Some company. I've got Eric, Cordelia, Bumblebee, Ophelia and Mia.
  • Dressing warm in a cozy sweater even though you have no intention of going out. I prefer my snuggly black turtleneck sweater.
  • A good book. I am ready to start a new one so I'll have to go through our library, which is already packed up in boxes.
Do you have any snow day survival tips?

In Case You Were Wondering (Plus Bonus***)

The introduction of solid foods is going well.

Shocked

Quaaluded

Sucking Tray
****Now for the Bonus.
I know you've probably been watching the Olympics just as we have from time to time. Eric and I have found a way to really jazz up men's figure skating. Put your TV on mute and then go to your ipod, shuffle through your songs, imagining what it might sound like if the skaters were to skate to songs from your play list (Culture Club Do you Really Want to Hurt Me, Madonna Express Yourself, Dee-Lite Groove is in the Heart). Then, when the skaters start just hit play and watch the magic unfold before your very eyes. Dance moves often correspond with the music! Seriously it's uncanny...think of it as the next evolution for people who played Pink Floyd's The Wall to The Wizard of Oz (For the record I never have).

Operation Cat Rescue

When I was a wee little lass I would comb the neighborhood for stray cats. I was always bringing them home. You're welcome Mom and Dad! I think I struck gold when I found a shed that a mama cat had a litter in. I spent many hours trying to catch those kittens and find them homes (at my house). I was always something of a cat rescuer Apparently the cat world has decided to reach out to me again.

Lately Bumblebee has been hanging out by the front door whining and seeming generally agitated. Every time we looked out the door there was nothing to be seen. Then yesterday it all became clear. Bumblebee freaked out and was running around the house in a frenzy. I opened the blinds and looked out. I spotted her, a black kitten. She paused to make eye contact before scurrying under the porch. I think she lives there.

Prints
Telltale evidence, tiny paw prints

So I reflected back on what my 9 year old self would have done. I got some cat food and placed it where I know she's hiding out. I will try and catch her and send her to the humane society. We, unfortunately, are not in a position to adopt another animal. I will pay for the adoption for whomever falls in love with her. Here's hoping she's easy to catch!

Why Wyoming?

When people hear that Eric and I are living in Wyoming we are often hit with the question, "why?!?" Most people think that vegan artists might not thrive in a state like this and there certainly are challenges to overcome, but I think we do have a few good reasons for being here right now.

First of all, Wyoming has a very independent spirit. People here truly march to the beat of their own drum. If you want to airbrush the phrase "Livin' on beans and dreams" onto the back of your car with no shame and no sense of humor, then go right ahead. If you want the worlds longest mullet with not a touch of irony and then you want to dye it red, go right ahead. If you want to ride around town on a 4 wheeler then by all means do your thing. If you want to dress like it's 1789, go for it. Nobody even bats an eyelash. Drive a covered wagon? Yep, go for it!Wear pajamas to the store? No problem. So, you can see that Eric and I fly right under the radar in a place like this.
***Note: The list above are of actual accounts of Wyomingans (Wyomingites?) waving their freak flags high.

Second, nature. Being outdoors in nature, untouched and unmarred. It's really unbeatable.

Third, we are living simply. Eric and I have become quite at ease with a very simple lifestyle. In the city we found we were always going in a thousand different directions, but here our focus is narrowed a bit and we are living more richly on much less. Sometimes less is much more.

Finally and most importantly is this (click here) and this. My family is here and they are such amazing people and have been such a comfort as we start our own little family.

Something to Look Forward To

When I was in high school I took a creative writing course. It was a bunch of misunderstood, or so we thought, teens. Our teacher was a retired pastor, older and soft spoken. For some reason we didn't take advantage of him, truly unheard of for this group of misfits. He had us writing our little misunderstood hearts out. He would write great comments on our papers like "I really feel your emotion here" and " Such strength in your words." Sure the things we wrote were almost certainly nonsense, but it felt so good to have an adult seem to understand our teen angst and confusion.

One of the writing assignments was to go to the local mall with our notebook and to sit and write about the people we saw, making descriptions, imagining their stories, whatever we felt. I had always been a people watcher, but this exercise really helped to focus in my people watching skills. I loved it and over the years I have often gone to malls, coffee shops and other public places just to observe my fellow humans. Sometimes it's hilarious and other times it is kind of lonely.

Last night Eric and I decided to go out for a cup of coffee. We decided to go to a coffee shop in the mall; if Cordelia was fussy we planned to just wander around with her in the stroller. Well, I forgot that it was Friday night. Small town Wyoming doesn't exactly have a lot of activities for high school kids so the mall was teeming with teens trying so hard to look aloof and cool. So much attention into what they were doing, what they looked like, and every detail was over thought. Every laugh was sent out as their eyes darted about uncertainly.

Eric

Eric and I sat on a bench, Cordelia was asleep. We watched as people came and went. I was reminded of the times I had spent in high school, people watching. I wondered if my eyes had been darting about, wondering if I looked cool as I wrote. Oh those teen years. I am happy to be on the other side. Something to look forward to with this little lady.

Some Projects

Yesterday was a fairly productive day. I thought I would share a few projects that I have been working on.

Oph1

First I started on some dog beds for my brother and sister-in-law's dogs. Their names are Cocoa and Jayrake. So I am using up some leftover pieces for the two beds. I have made little applique's of a J and a C to go on each bed. Then I have a simple split stitch outlining the letters. The whole process should only take a couple of hours, but it's a bit of a slow process with a little babe.

Ketchup1

Next I made some ketchup. I eat so much ketchup that it's time I start making my own. I looked over a few recipes and used the best sounding ingredients. We sampled it last night. I am not quite at the perfect recipe, but I am well on my way.

I also started making some shoes for Cordelia. I am really just winging it on those. I hope they turn out, but if not then there is no harm done.

What have you been working on?

A Little Something Extra

When we were waiting for Cordelia to arrive Eric and I did as many parents-to-be do. We daydreamed about things that might happen in the future; the first time she says mom or dad, her first steps, what an average day might be like, and what she might do when Eric comes home from work in the evenings.

When she was first born she didn't much care about anything beyond the basics, but slowly those little moments we had once anticipated have started to happen, but they often come with a little something extra...

I heart daddy

Eric was out of town earlier this week, overnight. I was wondering how much Cordelia had noticed the passage of time or if she'd be extra enthusiastic when Eric came home. We spent yesterday quietly going about our business as we awaited his return. Naps and feedings and changes, nothing out of the usual. She didn't indicate to me that she had noticed that it had been a longer than usual period of time since she had seen her father. When he finally pulled up Bumblebee started the festivities by twirling and howling with joy. Cordelia laughed hysterically at Bumblebee's antics. Then he came through the door. Whoa! Cordelia let out three shrill screams of joy. Then came the little something extra, she puked. I guess she was a little too excited. She didn't seem phased by the gross mess rolling down the front of her shirt, she was SO happy to see her father. These are the things that no parent-to-be can expect, but they really color and personalize the whole experience.

Goodbye Smokey

Twenty years ago, when I was in 3rd grade, my family adopted two cats. Jaws and Smokey. Jaws was named for obvious reasons. Smokey was named not for her coloration, but because she smelled of an ashtray when we adopted her.

Late last year we lost Jaws and then yesterday we lost Smokey. There was no big surprise at the loss, but still there is an ache in my heart. Smokey was possibly the most laid back being on the planet.

The legendary story is that one day we couldn't find Smokey anywhere. When she finally turned up she was in my brother's toy box. She had been there at least over night, laying atop a mountain of teenage mutant ninja turtle figurines. She didn't seem to care one iota that there were tiny plastic toys jamming into her body, she was perfectly contended and seemed to have no desire to be rescued.

In high school she would sleep under the covers with me on most nights. As she aged much of her time was spent perched on the back of the couches at my parent's house. She spent her last night there as well. It's something of a mercy for her to have passed on, but my family still feels the ache of losing one of its members. She's been with us for over twenty years. Goodbye Smokey, see you on the other side. I love you.

Is She Psychic?

When my parents come over they often call or text in advance to let me know they are on their way over. I set the phone down and immediately Bumblebee runs around the house frantic with anticipation. She knows they are coming and she is thrilled. She will run to the window and watch, ready to greet them with her trumpeting barks of joy.

Bumblebee

At first I thought that the phone call itself was the trigger for Bumblebee. Nope, she does nothing when other calls or texts come in. Next I thought it might be the time of day. Nope, it happens at any time of day. Finally I wondered if there was something that I was doing to trigger her. Nope, I have tried deliberately doing very different things and she always reacts in the same way.

Last night Eric and I were talking about this phenomenon and he mentioned that earlier in the week he had watched out the window as my dad pulled his car around the corner, two blocks down, and Bumblebee ran to the window. There was no way she could have heard or smelled anything, yet there she was anticipating his arrival.

So what's the deal? Is she psychic? I doubt it because she wouldn't bother begging for food unless she knew it was coming. It's a little bit spooky.

How Is Art Found?

Eric and I collect art. We're artists and art historians so it just makes sense for us to collect it. Many of our pieces are rescued from thrift stores. We find Japanese prints and some paintings and since we have the training we can often make some really good finds. Other times we just see a piece and love it simply for being a part of the fabric of our lives.

jake1

The photo above is a piece that we got years ago in Santa Fe, NM. The artist was a young guy named Jake who was a traveler. He'd go from town to town and sit on the sidewalk and sell his prints. On the day we found him he was in front of a health food store. He approached us and we took a look at his work. There were a few pieces that drew us in for whatever reason. We bought this piece and another for just a couple of bucks each. He thanked us and we parted ways.

That's not the first, nor will it be the last, time that we have bought art from street artists. Have you ever done it? You can find some real talent, add to your memories of a trip or adventure and support an artist. We have found everything from sculptures to photography to paintings in this manner.

If you are looking for art and don't have a ton of money I highly recommend that you seek out an artist who may/may not be well established. Who knows you may find in a decade that your artist has become well established and the few bucks you spent may have been an investment.

Not sure where to look? Try...

Biz-ness and Stuff

Susan the Elder

Let's celebrate! I did my taxes yesterday. Can you believe that?!? I mean biz-ness this year. I feel like the queen, and by the queen I of course mean Kylie Minogue. Maybe today is a bit nonsensical, but that is just what happens when I am super excited to be getting stuff done!

I feel like things are FINALLY falling into place, or are at least headed in that direction. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Years of schooling and planning are starting to come to some sort of a head. I am one paper away from finishing my master's degree. I also have a potential teaching position at the college in the not too distant future.

So, to celebrate my good mood I thought I would share this fabulous piece of artwork with you once again. What are you celebrating today? Wahooo

Cordelia

Cordelia

Here is a photo of my beautiful daughter, taken a few days ago. She looks so seasonal like a little Valentine. I thought I'd give my friends and family a little update of random Cordelia info...

Yesterday she went to the doctor for her check up. She is growing. She is nearly double her birth weight. I am going to have one crazy buff arm since I tote her around almost exclusively on my right side.

We also recently realized that Cordelia loves music. Well, we've known that since before she was even born because she would get really active in utero when we played anything with a good beat. However she has already developed a specific favorite. She likes Lady Gaga. So, we checked out the album from the library and watched some of her videos on YouTube, Eric noted that Lady Gaga pretty much just wears fancy onesies and it seems like this might be part of the appeal for Cordelia. If you don't know who I am talking about click here.

She rolls over, grabs with both hands, smiles, giggles, babbles and is just generally a fun little girl.

Also, Cordelia has begun talking in her sleep. no, she's not spouting out real words or anything, but she babbles and giggles in her sleep. It's really cute.

The Dam Lake

OK so I couldn't resist with my title, you'll understand in a moment. Yesterday Eric and I decided to take the family out of town for a quick trip. We've been talking about a vacation and since that isn't in the books right now we decided to take a little 1/2 day trip and explore our new(ish) home of Wyoming.

We loaded up Bumblebee and Cordelia into the car. Bumblebee immediately started her obsessive car whining, not fun, and it set a bad tone for the drive. Let me give you a little more info about Bee's obsessive whining...she does a high pitched nasal whine that increases in fervor and intensity and it can go on indefinitely. So, we put her gentle leader on her. She sulks when we do that and it makes the trip much more silent.

We went to a nearby lake with a dam (hence the blog title). Actually there are a bunch of dams and a couple of lakes, linked together by a river.

canyon1

The real beauty was a canyon with a river at the bottom.

canyon

The water has a greenish bluish hue from whatever minerals have been traveling this route for who knows how many eons. Whenever I see canyons like this I always try to imagine how it must have started off as just a small trickle through the brush and over time it grew into a thundering canyon.

eric1

Eric took a look over the edge. I did too, but I am terrified of heights. I always feel that I might have some sort of lapse in sanity and jump. Not that I've ever had a lapse in sanity, but it seems that one be a bad place to start having them. Not to worry, Bumblebee and Cordelia were kept safely away from the edge.

lake1

We got out to the lake and it was frozen and so beautiful. I could see the mountains in the distance, darkened by a swiftly approaching storm. It was really amazing to see.

We also ran into a strange man, a groundskeeper or something of that nature. He and a few other men were all hanging out near the dam. He approached our car, as people in WY are apt to do. The man was friendly enough, but a little weird. He wanted to talk to us about Bumblebee and how to properly discipline a dog. We assured him that we were well read in dog obedience...we left out the part about how Bumblebee obsessively whines in the car (or jumps on visitors). Then he asked if we needed a babysitter for Cordelia. This made us a bit uncomfortable, but then he explained that a family member of his runs a daycare in town. Eric and I were a little uncomfortable, but tried to be friendly. We've still got a bit of the city in us, we aren't quite sure how to deal with strangers.

After that encounter and another long look at the gorgeous scenery we decided to head home. Cordelia was cooing and playing with toys in the backseat and Bumblebee was silently gazing out the window. We took the winding road back to the highway just as the first flakes began to fall on the frozen lake. It was quiet, strange and gorgeous.

Finally Two Blankets

So, I have finally got some pictures for you! The quilt and a recent crocheted blanket, both for the children of friends.

Quilt2

Quilt1

The quilt is really a sampler of many different techniques and comes across as a crazy quilt. The back side is a bit more subdued with applique polka dots. As you many already know I had some serious sewing machine problems. My mother ended up completing the bias tape and she did a fantastic job, much better than I could have done. It was finished up just in time as my friend Mary had her little guy yesterday!!!

crochet

The other blanket is just a simple crochet in pink. I have a friend with a little lady who likes pink, so this is headed her way soon. Jennifer J. your package will soon be in the mail!

That Guy

The other day a package arrived in the mail for Eric while he was at work. I assumed it had something to do with his volunteer work and just sent him a text message letting him know that it was at our house. He asked me where the package had come from. I checked the return address and told him that it had come from California.

A moment later he sent me a text (yes, we text now, we're so modern) directing me to look under a box on his bedside table and then to open the package. I did as I was instructed. Under the box on his table I found the sweetest letter thanking me for being a mom. It was a really wonderful letter, the kind that makes me misty eyed.

necklace
Necklace from Creative Manifestations on Etsy

Then I opened the package and found that Eric had been a bit sneaky. I had recently found this necklace and mentioned to him that I thought it was really cool. The necklace was sold out and I didn't give it another thought. Eric went on a little mission and was able to find one more from the same seller and he slyly bought it for me. What a guy! I love my husband so much.

If you are in love with the necklace I think she has a new one in stock.

A Few Things That I am Into/Doing

flower

Here is what is on my plate right now:

I am currently reading She Came to Stay by Simone de Beauvoir. I learned about Simone de Beauvoir in a French female writers class that I took during my undergrad in Montana. Eric and I took the class one summer and it was a strange and intense experience. We had the class for two weeks of 12 hour days. We were overflowing with French femininity when it was all said and done.

I am about 2/3 of the way through the book and I don't like any of the characters, yet I can't put the book down. Overall it's about a volatile relationship as a metaphor for the tense time right before World War II came to France. I don't know how it ends, so if you read the book based on this and it ends terribly I cannot be held responsible.

I am also crocheting a blanket for a friend.

My quilt is just being finished off. My mom actually was kind enough to help me out with the bias tape. My sewing machine pooped out and hand sewing with an active little girl has proven very difficult. So now the project will have two makers. It should be complete by the end of the week! I am so excited!!!

We have just started the process of hunting for a new place to live. We will be moving within the next few months and it's time. We're getting a little crowded in our current digs. I am excited. I just wish we could afford to buy a home...maybe someday.

Eric and I are getting jazzed for the last season of Lost. Were you pulled into that series?

We've been listening to a few new musicians including: El Perro del Mar (Love is Not Pop...I particularly love the song Change of Heart), Wild Beasts (Two Dancers), Mika (The Boy Who Knew Too Much). What are you listening to?

We're still working on our massive project of children's videos for our friend Andy Mason.

What about you?
