You'll NEVER Guess What I Did Last Night AND BONUS***

Seriously, you will never in a million years guess what I did last night, because it's weird---and I am not Canadian (not that Canadians are weird...I know and love many a Canadian). Here's a hint...

Curling Stones

Yep, we went curling. You know curling right? The sport that doesn't require any particular level of fitness, yet is surprisingly challenging.
**Now before you write me an informational comment about curling and fitness levels, let me just say that the pros made an appearance and they were mostly of an older generation/ fitness level, but the pros have serious skill that put me to shame!

Keeping up with Cordy

So, we showed up at the rink wearing warm clothes and clean sneakers. Cordelia kept my mother busy as Eric, my father and I hit the ice with the rest of the crew. We first got some basic instruction and then went about trying to play the game. I thought that perhaps I would be a natural at this sport and this might be my ticket to the Olympics...I was wrong on that one.

My pops

Curling Eric

I have to admit that I seriously underestimated the sport, but it sure was fun. Well it was fun until I began to shiver and freeze. I am apparently a human chihuahua and I freeze easily. Eric proved to be an extremely enthusiastic sweeper, my father had the power shots.

Smiling and Curling

I had no special skill and my wit and charm was lost on the coach guy so I pretty much just had a good time and did the equivalent to deep lunges on ice (part of the technique). My knee is bruised and I am wondering if the pros get calloused curling knees? Either way it was a unique and fun evening...always up for something a little different.

That looks like fun! Minus the bruised knee. I love to try quirky new things! It looks like your Dad and Eric might need to join a team.

LOVE the new look for your blog! Dandelions are my absolute favourite flower and I adore the banner thing-y (no clue as to the real name.) Thanks for the past year of entertainment and amusement via your writing and I look forward to another 12 months!
