Eric

Happy Birthday to my Handsome Husband! Today the whole universe celebrates the anniversary of Eric's birth! 31 years that the world has been much improved beccause of this man. For those of you who want to know more let me tell you a a bit about this guy.

  1. He is an amazing father! Cordelia LOVES her father and with good reason. The two of them have such fun together.

  2. He is tireless (well almost). He has worked on our house to pretty much the brink of human ability while still keeping a day job. The day before we moved he stayed up until 2am working on the trim, only to get up and move an entire household in the morning.

  3. He is such a gentleman, not just to me--to everyone!

  4. He makes me laugh. Every day.

  5. He is a good person. He is quiet about it, but I can always count on him to do the right thing!

  6. He is vegan. Enough said!

  7. He pushes himself to be a better person. He volunteers, works at self-improvement, and looks for opportunities to grow.

  8. He is so intelligent.

  9. He never smells bad. Come on that's important.

  10. He means the world to me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EWIM! You are radical!

Eric, we are very grateful to have you in the family! You can't yet know quite what a great thing it is for us to trust our daughter to you. You'll understand that more as Cordelia reaches adulthood.

More than that, though, we just love you for you... gentlemanly and good, yes, but also able to hold your own in the family shanigans!

I love number 5. LOVE. IT. Hope someone lucky lady says that about my boy someday. And to Eric:

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art, write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. and I hope somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself....Neil Gaiman
