SODAK ATTACK: Day 1 ***Bonus Giveaway

We just returned from a quick weekend trip to South Dakota...or as we affectionately know it SODAK! We actually met up with blogger friend Emily from Bananas and Bees and her entire family. You may recall that I met Emily for the first time in May and we hit it off so well that we decided to reunite while they were on their family vacation.

So on Friday morning we packed up the car and drove to Rapid City. Have you been there? It is an insane tourist destination, there are so many things to do!

We started off the trip with a visit to Storybook Island, an amazing place for kids. The local rotary club has this amazing park that really makes childhood stories come to life. I remember going to it as a kid and I hope someday Cordelia will too.

We were thrilled to discover that there was an opportunity for FREE silhouettes by an artist named Kevin Overhulser! So we had our girls all sit for the process.

After the silhouettes we all just kind of ran around like crazy. Cordelia wandered around hugging each storybook statue that she saw. The girls all played, the guys took photos and Emily and I...well you'll see what we did.

Later we went out for dinner and then we drove up to Keystone which is a small town below Mt. Rushmore, a real tourist destination.

We walked the main drag, checked out some shops, chatted and then headed back to the hotel for the evening.

So fun! I can't wait to see that part of the country. If only I could get credit in grad school for traveling.

My life is now complete because I have had both a photo with a Unicorn and a creepy Aladdin! I plan on getting the girls' silhouette's framed and hung in their room soon!
