Art Show

Last night we loaded up the crew to check out an opening at a local gallery. We've been here long enough that we know much of the gallery crowd and many of them know our girls. So, it isn't too big of a deal to tote two very little children into galleries.

We take our girls to these kind of events because 1) we have to if we want to get out 2) we want to expose them to art 3) we want them to feel comfortable in a variety of situations

We are often at these types of events for 30 minutes so we don't spread those kids too thin, but it is just enough time to see a show, chat a bit and move on with our night.

The girls seem to enjoy it. Cordelia is such a social butterfly that it is like a dream come true to have so many people to talk to.

When was the last time you were at a gallery opening?

Never. I have never been to an art gallery opening. I now find that kind of sad...

I don't think I've ever been to a gallery opening, either. I do love going to art shows and museums, though, but it's been far too long since I've gone.

Did you know that in my area every spring, there is the world-famous -- okay, maybe not really -- Art on the Square festival in Belleville, IL? Perhaps you should come some time!
