Sick Days

We were supposed to be in Montana this weekend. We had made some really fun plans with a friend and the girls were so excited to spend some time out of town. Friday evening we went to bed, planning to hit the road early the next morning.

Around 4:30 we all awoke to the unmistakable sounds of a child barfing, distinctly different from the night sounds of a dog or cat puking (you're welcome for all of that information). Eric and I hopped into action. We all were up, lights on, cleaning happening.

After last year's NM trip that included three pukes in the car we were not too keen to risk a long car drive with a sick kid. So we cancelled our plans.

Turned out to be a wise choice as the illness has made its rounds through the family. Thankfully it isn't too miserable, just gross and unpredictable. Yesterday the girls were playing in their room and Cordelia skipped out to announce that she had puked on the floor. So we have spent the weekend close to home. I am cautiously optimistic that we are now through the storm and that the girls will be well enough to start school tomorrow.

Don't you wish for a cleaning lady to magically appear for times like this?
There's always another weekend for the Montanna trip!
