Summer gardens have mini-seasons. One minute peas and asparagus and lettuce are overwhelming me and then it is over. Now I am in a sort of in between phase. I have butternut squash and cucumbers and zucchini and melons and tomatoes that are all starting to ripen. Soon I will have more than I can manage. For now I have a steady flow of goodies finding there way from garden to table. I also have my ongoing joy of the herbal garden which adds so much dimension to each meal.
