Entertaining

Last night we had some friends over for a family dinner. Cordelia was happy to welcome Madeline, who is just a couple of years older than Cordelia. They have a blast together.

stromboli
We ate some stromboli with a salad and fresh cherries. We drank cold bottles of cream soda.

For dessert we had baked peaches, stuffed with candied pecans.

We sat out back and talked as our children all played together in the dirt. It was wonderful!

We had a perfect evening. I think it goes without saying that our tub was dirty by the end of the night, signs of a day well spent.

What did you do?

How wonderful! Stromboli and baked peaches with candied pecans...heaven! We spent the late afternoon/early evening at the beach and came away with phone numbers of 2 new friends. Then we headed off to the vegan pizzeria where DS ate an entire small all by himself! After that we stumbled into bed as we have a big day ahead...Medieval Faire! Enjoy your weekend.

This looks beautiful. My "date night" was spent seeking Darwin who inexplicably escaped from a closed gate. Sigh. Maybe in another 6 months or so, we'll try again. For now, we'll stick to ordering symphonies on netflix.

I don't know what stromboli is, must google that! We are having such a perfect Winter day here, sun, sun, and more sun after so much rain. The photos are beautiful they speak for themselves!

You certainly do a nice job of hostess! The girls looked so cute playing together! The ballet dress looked perfect on Madeline!

I don't know what Stromboli is either, but it certainly looks yummy and is making me hungry! It is lovely to see Cordelia playing in the dirt, so many mothers around here frown when their children become dirty, but I think it's an essential part of childhood! My little daughter is always filthy by the end of the day with a mixture of mud, glitter, paint and often...soup! But that's what baths and washing machines are for!
Take care
