New Mexico Trip: Day 4

On our last day in New Mexico we awoke bright and early to fit in a little visit with Eric's parents before Eric met up with Copeland to do the final studio work for the show.

After a brief visit with Eric's family we headed back into town for work. Well, Eric and Copeland stayed behind to work. Victoria and I took the girls to see White Sands, even though it was overcast and threatening rain. When we arrived and got out of the car it was raining. I knew we were going to get wet, leaving was not an option. I suggested to Victoria that she stay in the car, but she was game for a little shower. She bundled herself and Cordelia in towels and then we were out in the pouring rain, sand sticking to our feet.



The rain stopped a short while later and we played. It started and stopped a few more times, but it was fun and beautiful, and thoroughly drenching!


















When we had our fill of White Sands and Cordelia had sand in her scalp, it was time to head back to town.



Since Eric and Copeland were busy working we decided to give them a little more space. We stopped for lunch.



Eric worked the rest of the afternoon. The girls and I took a break to rest up. Then Cordelia did a little swimming with Eric. Finally, Eric's oldest sister Tina and our only neice Taylor stopped by for a visit.





We ended the day at the Copeland's. Victoria and I cooked together, it was just a lovely end to a fantastic trip.







The next morning it was pouring rain. We headed home anyway. Roads were closed behind us, but we made it. We spent the night in Colorado and left early the next morning, making it home before the Interstate was closed due to flooding.
