We are in those dark days of winter that just stick around too long. We are enjoying those days when the cold is less intense and we can play outside, but those are limited to hours outdoors. We are longing for those spring and summer days with windows and screens open, entire days spent outside, growing things and playing and reveling in the air and light.
Currently the roads in our neighborhood are flat sheets of ice on hills. Everyone is driving with the acceptance that accidents are very possible. And just when Eric and I begin to ask ourselves why we live in such a place the tulips and daffodils will poke out of the snow and we will enter into a spring and summer that makes the long winters worth it.
