Hints of Fall and GIVEAWAY

When I woke up this morning I found myself curled up into a tiny ball. I was chilly. I stretched out and put my feet onto the cold hardwood floor and shivered a bit. Fall is surely on its way. The days are still warm, not hot. The mornings are starting to think about frost. I think we are a few weeks away from the first frost.

For now I will spend my mornings warming under a quilt with a cup of hot tea. Is it cold where you are?

Quilts

I have a set of quilts. Each quilt made by a grandmother. When I went off to college I became guilty of the college raid. Did you do this? I left for college with my cool new college stuff, but on my first trip home I took several items that did not belong to me. I think it was just trying to take a little bit of home with me as I went out into the world. Anyway, I have since offered to return the quilts, but my Mom said I could have them. Phew.

The quilt above was made by my Grandma Grace. It is a block quilt made with loads of funky polyester squares. I love me some funky polyester!

This quilt is a crazy quilt made by my Grandma Carol. Again, there is lots of funky polyester.

I love that the quilts remind me of my grandmothers and my parents. I hope someday I have a kid who wants to steal them from me. I hope I have the dignity to let them pass on.
