A Few More

You may recall that last Monday I began the arduous task of uploading old family photos. I have been very busy, as there are hundreds and hundreds of photos. I have been finding little gems mixed in with the usual Christmas gathering photos. I thought I'd share a few more just because they are so great.

Photobucket

I love this photo. It's such a personal moment. Who took the photo? When was it taken? I always have so many questions when I look at these types of photos. What were the circumstances? Who treasured this image so much that it was kept for all of these years?

Photobucket

Eric and I aren't exactly sure who this girl is, nor do we know the circumstances surrounding the photo, but it is just such a great picture. I mean look at all of the elements: her outfit, her pose, those socks, the look on her face. The whole thing seems like it should be on a Hallmark card with a little funny caption...what would it say?

Do you have a favorite old family photo?

I LOVE the first photo... that is the type of thing I'd enlarge and hang up in my apartment.

I'm seriously going to be thinking about captions for that confirmation picture all day...

i love old pictures like this.

There's one of my grandparents not too long after they got married and they look like Lucy and Ricky :) I love it.

That first photo is fabulous!
The second one reminds me of one of mom's family pictures: my grandparents with their eight children - mom must have been 6 or 7 years old at the time. Every time she looks at it, the only thing she sees is how one of her socks was slouching... I find it both funny and sad that she focuses so much on that detail.

Oh my gosh- that first photo is so beautiful. My favorite family photo I have is a black and white picture of my grandmother and some of her friends. They're all dressed up to go out and they look so classy.

Yes, that picture totally needs a caption! I am drawing a blank at the moment, though...

That first photo is my grandpa and grandma right? At least it better be, because that's him in the navy uniform!

Both photos are great! I wonder who took Eric's grandparents' photo? They must have felt like a third wheel there for a little bit. =)

My favorite old family photo is of my grandpa in an army hospital bed receiving his purple heart medal. I need to scan that one in sometime.

My favorite old family photo is my parents getting married. When I was little I would stare at it forever, and it can make me stop whatever I am doing still today if I pass it.

I love the little girls picture. The expression is priceless.

(i think you could sell prints of it in your shop!)

that little girl is too funny! it must be her first communion . . . i'll have to ask ben if he has any ideas for a caption - he thinks of things like that . . .
