Yesterday was a great day. I went out to lunch with my parents. Have I mentioned how nice it is to live in the same town as them? We went to a new restaurant and I had a yummy wrap and some pita chips with hummus. My Mom had the day off so we took some time to go to a few thrift stores around town.
I was wearing some maternity pants and I am really not quite comfortable with the high level at which maternity pants are worn, or at least this particular style. I spent a lot of time trying to find a level that I could be comfortable with wearing them. In the end I just accepted the fact that I am currently a gal who wears the waistband of her pants at an unnaturally high level.
Anyway, I came home after my outing with my Mom and did some housework. Eric soon made it home from work and we settled in for the evening.
Just as we finished dinner we got slammed with a wonderful rainstorm. You know the kind that soaks you moments after you step out into it. Of course I had to go out and get soaked. Well, until the lighting started, then I went back inside and we just watched the rain and listened to the thunder. The thunder was wonderful, the kind that you can feel rattle your ribs, where it feels as though it is actually inside of you. I love that.
Bumblebee was very excited about the whole thing, so once the lightning was over we let her outside. She took a couple of steps out the back door and then thought better of it.
Later, in the middle of the night, I awoke and just listened to the rain hit my roof; a small luxury I missed when we were living in our apartment in Denver.
